Scott Bruderer, P.A.-C.

Physician Assistant

Scott Bruderer is a Physician Assistant working with Dr Douglas in Orthopaedic Surgery. Scott has lived in Utah most of his life and graduated from Alta High School in Sandy, Utah. He attended UVSC in Orem where he met his wife in anatomy class of all places. They have been married 15 years and have 4 beautiful children, 2 daughters and 2 sons.

Scott then attended The University of Utah where he was working on a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science. He later attended Salt Lake Community College and attained his degree as a Registered Nurse. After working as an R.N., Scott then attended the Physician Assistant program MEDEX NW through the University Of Washington School Of Medicine in Seattle Washington. He completed rotations in family/internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, Emergency medicine, Cardiology, Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics.

Scott has previously worked as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice and Internal Medicine and Urgent Care/Occupational Medicine. Scott enjoys Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and enjoys working with all ages. He enjoys teaching patients and has also been a clinical preceptor for other Physician Assistant training programs and Nurse Practitioner training programs.

Scott worked in mental health with youth and children for 6 years. He worked in the Emergency Department and on the ambulance as an E.M.T. He also worked in the ER and ICU as a Nurse before going to PA school and working as a PA.

As a Physician Assistant Scott is able to see patients, order x-rays, MRIs and blood tests and interpret these tests. He is able to diagnose and prescribe medications for patients. Specializing in Orthopaedics, Scott also assists Dr Douglas in surgery and reduces/sets fractures and dislocations with proficiency. He is also a certified cast technician.

Scott loves spending time with his family and doing outdoor activities like skiing and camping. He loves skiing at Snowbird with his kids and teaching them to ski and snowboard. He coaches his sons baseball team and is an avid sports participant himself playing softball, soccer, basketball, golf and just about anything else he can play.

As a Physician Assistant in the State of Utah Scott is licensed in the state as a PA and carries a license for prescription medications. He is also nationally certified as a PA by the NCCPA. This certification is updated every 6 years with a national exam and yearly CME’s.
